 Towards a legal framework for artificial intelligence

The legal framework for AI is gradually taking shape at international level. While all eyes were on the European Union, where the draft regulation on AI is in the process of being adopted, other initiatives have recently taken centre stage, whether in the USA, China, or in the G7 and OECD countries. The next edition of the AI Safety Summit, which has just ended in the UK, will be held in France in 2024.

But what does AI have to say about that? When asked about the need for a legal framework for AI, OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI told us that this is “a complex topic” but that “many experts and policymakers recognize the need for some form of AI regulation to ensure its ethical and responsible use”.

AI is everywhere and impacts every sector.
